Avocado Hummus

Who doesn’t like hummus?

In our home it is something we make quite a lot! The kids love it too! made from garbanzo beans (chickpeas) it supplies a good source of protein, soluble fiber (the kind that helps trap and  remove cholesterol and toxins from the digestive tract) insoluble fiber (the kind that helps provide bulk and keep you um…. moving right along) amino acids and trace minerals, all things that benefit the body and help keep it working smoothly! Here is a delicious salt and oil free version of this beloved dip! Enjoy it on salads, whole wheat or multigrain pita’s, carrot sticks, bell pepper strips, veggies of all kinds! get creative!

you will need:

1 15 oz can garbanzo beans (drained and rinsed, salt free is the best option)

1 small to medium avocado (skin and pit removed…. but you probably already knew that!)

2 whole cloves of garlic peeled

Juice of 1 large lemon (or two small lemons…. or to taste)

1 tsp. of Braggs Liquid Amino’s

place all ingredients in a food processor or blender and whip up until smooth! And there you go, easy, delicious, and healthy! Enjoy!
